Meet Our Farm School Staff
At Farm School Orange County we believe that children learn best when they have fun and are able to learn in a hands-on learning environment. We believe that teaching children about the basics of where our food comes from and teaching compassion and empathy towards animals and others sets them up to be the amazing humans they are meant to be! Meet our Farm School Orange County staff below!
Ms. Brooke
Owner
Ms. Brooke’s passion for children and music is what lead to the creation of Magic Steps Studios, our parent company for Farm School Orange County. Ms. Brooke has been teaching children in music and art for over 13 years. Her love for the outdoors, healthy eating and animals is what brought about the dream of Farm School! Her dream was to combine hands on learning while also teaching children about where their food comes from and empathy and compassion for animals! Farm School become a reality 3 years ago with the start of our Farm School OC Camps and now our our Farm School OC Enrichment Programs. When Ms. Brooke is not teaching, you can find her spending time with her 2 children or at the beach with her dog, Duke.
Ms. Lara
Head Teacher
Ms. Lara grew up in Pennsylvania and has always had a love for nature and animals. Ms. Lara attended the University of Delaware and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. During her college studies, Ms. Lara studied abroad in the Pacific Rainforests of Costa Rica and the Amazon Jungle in Peru. Lara came to California in 2003 and resides in Dana Point with her husband and three boys, Hendrix, Holden and Dempsey.
Ms. McKenna
Assistant Teacher
Ms. McKenna has a degree in Early Childhood Education and a passion for animals and children. She previously taught at a nature-based preschool and worked as a farmhand on a sheep farm in New Zealand.
Ms. McKenna will be bringing her expertise in early childhood development and animal care to Farm School OC and we are so excited to have her be a part of our team! She will be teaching with Ms. Lara Mondays - Wednesdays on the farm as well as helping with our seasonal camps!
