What is Farm School OC?
Farm School OC is a one-of-a-kind experience for children ages 3 1/2 to 9 at Zoomars at River Ranch in San Juan Capistrano.
Animals and farming are the heart of our programs.
Our goal at Farm School OC is to nurture empathy and compassion for animals, to model an appreciation for farming, sustainability, buying local, eating healthy and making the world a better place.
At Farm School OC the students feed, brush and interact with the animals daily which teaches empathy and compassion. It also improves a child’s social skills and increases motivation and learning.
As often as possible the students also help prepare fresh food, learn about where it comes from and then get to try it out. When students learn about farming, where food comes from and how it is grown, they are more likely to taste new foods and build a foundation of lifelong healthy eating choices.
Our morning Farm School OC program is geared towards younger students and is a great way to dive into the farm to table lifestyle and learn basic concepts about farming, agriculture, where our food comes from, animal care and compassion and so much more.
Our morning Farm School OC students also enjoy daily music and art lessons!
We believe that children need to have fun while learning so everyday is fun and educational on the farm!

What Is A Typical Day At Farm School?
10:30-10:45 - Students Arrive & Circle Time
During circle time we welcome everyone by name, sing and tell stories together
10:45 - 11:00 - Playground time
11:00- 11:15 - Snack time
11:15 - 12:15 - Daily lesson
Our daily lesson will include animal education and planting, farming or cooking with seasonal produce. Each daily lesson will include math, science, literacy, art and music. This is a hands on learning time where the kids get involved and have fun while they learn.
12:15 - 12:30 - Lunch & story time
12:30 - 1:15 - Animal interactions
Each day at Farm School the kids spend time brushing, feeding and just being with the animals at Zoomars at River Ranch. This is always their favorite time of the day!

Farm School OC Attire
At Farm School OC we require our students to be in their Farm School OC uniform daily.
The Farm School OC required registration fee of $50 includes your Farm School OC t-shirt and an adorable Farm School backpack to use for carrying their projects home each day.
Denim or navy jeans or shorts must be worn with with their Farm School t-shirt daily. Girls can also wear red or navy leggings. On chilly days, please put a long sleeve t-shirt under the Farm School OC t-shirt.
